I’M SPEAKING!          Let today I’M SPEAKING!

Let today be a reminder that your voice needs to be heard. So proud to be a woman. So excited for the future!!

How are you all feeling today?
Confession: I worry about my child’s health just Confession: I worry about my child’s health just as much as I do my own.

#ad Kalyn’s Kindergarten year is nothing like we’d imagined. Instead of thriving in person at school, she has spent the past year being quarantined at home with no playmates and an instructional model that doesn’t best suit her learning needs. I’ve noticed a shift in her demeanor, and became worried about her mental health during this time.

Thankfully I discovered @livehealthonline. The doctors available through LiveHealth Online provide healthcare for behavioral and medical concerns. You can schedule an appointment in advance through their #mentalhealth practice. Remember, if your child receives this service, you must be present. With a service that is free to sign up, and offers an affordable cost per visit, it is helpful to mothers like myself. LiveHealth Online is covered by many health plans, as well.

If it is an emergency, call 911 or go to an emergency room, but know that #telehealth is available for the needs of you and your little loves. How are you caring for your child’s mental health this season? Use the link in my bio to try LiveHealth Online.

I’m super excited because I’m starting @the_templebuilder 30 day fit challenge! One of my goals this year is to be more disciplined in eating clean, and taking better care of my body overall. This challenge includes customized meal plans, intense home workouts, and weekly check ins for accountability.

I’m no fitness expert but I believe starting exactly where you are is the perfect way to start! I look forward to the mental and physical changes over the next month.

What are you doing to create healthier habits this year? Do you have any fitness goals?
You ever look at your kid and be like: “I’m re You ever look at your kid and be like: “I’m really somebody’s mama?!”

Motherhood is wild y’all! One minute you’re giving birth and the next minute you can’t have any makeup to yourself because your five going on fifteen year old wants contour like her mama.

Well maybe that’s just MY kid, but motherhood is a constant reminder to live in the moment. The days of being a mom are so long, but the years go by so quickly. So today and each day I’m soaking up the love from my mini me while she still thinks I’m the most special person in the world.

What’s your favorite part about being a motherhood? What do you look forward to most about motherhood?

Thankfully, I’ve stocked up on my favorite essentials so that I’m able to take a moment to myself and refresh to feel at my best. @TherafluUS Hot Liquids are my go-to solution to #PowerDown. Beyond symptom relief of cold and flu, #theraflu provides a soothing experience that helps me get to feeling better so that I can get back to caring for the ones I love most.

When you’re feeling under the weather, how do you #PowerDown?
Imposter syndrome is being cancelled in 2021.

Today in my stories I discussed how imposter syndrome has impacted me as an influencer. Too often I’ve wanted the end result without wanting the work that comes along with this journey. Ultimately, trying to be only where the money resides had me losing sense of why I’m in this space in the first place.

Here are some tips when you feel imposter syndrome creeping in:
1. Remember why you started.
2. Don’t shy away from what you love. Your gifts and passions will always make room for you.
3. Numbers don’t matter if you’re not inspiring anyone.
4. You are your niche! Tell the story of your life, don’t try to curate a fake life to please people.
5. Unfollow anyone that makes you feel small. You are enough exactly where you are.
6. Set healthy goals for your brand and create realistic steps to achieve them.
7. Affirm yourself daily. You got this!!

Have you ever experienced imposter syndrome? How did you overcome it?
Show up, even when you don’t feel like it.

As a parent, I don’t get to choose which days I want to clock into the job. Each day, I show up and give my absolute best effort because I know how important Kalyn is to me.

Similarly in life, if something matters to you, you should show up everyday. I’ve quickly realized nothing will be handed to me and that there are no shortcuts to success.

The results you see are a direct reflection of showing up for yourself and putting in the work each day. Dreams don’t work unless you do!

What are some ways that you’re showing up to build the life you desire?
It’s Meal Prep Monday!    One of my goals th It’s Meal Prep Monday!

One of my goals this year is to reduce the amount of times I dine out each week, and to increase efficiency in the kitchen through meal prepping.

I’ll be sharing more about this journey with you all soon, and hope my insta family will keep me accountable! Here are some helpful tips I’ve been given:

1. Start small. If you’re not used to meal prepping or cooking regularly, it won’t happen overnight. Give yourself grace.
2. Invest in storage containers! They’ll help a ton with organization.
3. Switch it up! Meal prep doesn’t have to be boring. Explore a variety of spices, veggies, and lean meats!
4. Use a list when shopping. Don’t give into temptation of ordering out because you’re missing ingredients. Go in prepared!
5. Batch cook based on your preference. I can’t meal prep for an entire week. Instead my goal is twice a week.

What are your health and food related goals for this year?
Walking into the weekend like...    Y’all th Walking into the weekend like...

Y’all this week has been a lot! Between returning to work, supervising virtual learning, and the chaos taking place in our nation, we all deserve time to just decompress.

2021 is not about to play us. This is a gentle reminder to keep your energy positive and focused on achieving any goals you’ve set. Guard your minds and know when to shut off. Take care of you!

How are you all feeling after the first week of the year? What plans do you have this weekend?
Give yourself your flowers too!

While you’re around here showing love to everyone else, don’t mess around and forget to love on yourself.

While you’re out here showing love to everyone else, keep the same energy with the love you direct towards yourself. I find it so easy to cheer on the next woman, but even easier to doubt my own talent and ability. No more!

This year self care for me looks like positive affirmations, not letting comparison steal my joy, setting healthy boundaries to maintain peace, and remembering that I’m one of one!

What will self care look like for you this year? Drop some positive self talk in the comments!

I’ve been away from work for two weeks, but as I prepare to return virtually tomorrow, my anxiety is through the roof. Admittedly, virtual learning has been extremely difficult for both myself and Kalyn. I’m sure many mamas can relate, so here are a few reminders as your approach the transition to return to instruction:

1. Set rituals and routines. Reinforce bedtime, break time, and lots of play throughout the day.
2. Prep materials in advance. This goes for both children and yourselves for you own duties.
3. Prepare meals the night before. This saves so much headache and promotes independence and healthier eating habits.
4. Pay attention to the mental health of you and your child. This isn’t easy on anyone. Know when to step away.
5. Give yourself and your children grace. Acknowledge the efforts put in and ask God for guidance to make it through!

You got this mama! How are you feeling about returning to work?
For I know the plans I have for you declares THE L For I know the plans I have for you declares THE LORD. - Jeremiah 29:11

In all of our goal setting and planning may we not forget that God is in control and his will is always greater than our own.

I’m setting some intentional goals this year through prayer and action.

Drop one goal you have for the year! What’s one step you can take this month to move you closer to achieving it?
2020, farewell.

I’ve had some losses, I’ve had some wins. I’ve shed some tears and laughed until I couldn’t anymore.

This year God made me strong. I learned to take care of myself the way my father once took care of me. I learned the value of living. I learned how valuable I am as a woman.

Though I have plenty of goals next year, the biggest one is to maintain the peace and happiness I gained this year. To find gratitude in each moment, and to love and cherish those around me like never before.

I’m so excited to see what the new year brings our way! 2021, here we come!

What are you most looking forward to in the new year?
I was so happy to contribute to history being made I was so happy to contribute to history being made back in November. For the first time since 1992, Georgia turned blue helping Biden/Harris secure the election! Still, our work isn’t done. I’m gearing up for the runoff election to elect Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff to the U.S. Senate!

Know that #yourvoteispower. I’ve joined with three of my friends and not only have we discussed the importance of this election, but we have also come up with a plan to vote, and will check in to make sure we have actually voted. Now, I need you to vote and remind 3 friends to vote. Reach out to 3 friends right now and ask them what their voting plan is. Georgia, you’ve already shown the country how powerful our vote is. Let’s make sure our friends bring their power too!

The runoff election is January 5th, 2021, and early voting has already begun! Absentee ballots can be requested through the Friday before the election, for the January 5 runoff and must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, January 5.

Even if you’re not in Georgia, you can donate time or money to the Ossoff and Warnock campaigns, or make sure your friends and family in Georgia have the resources they need to get to the polls! #teammoveon
