I celebrated another year of life, organized my home, spent time with family and friends, and took lots of naps. ⠀ ⠀ It was the recharge I absolutely needed to finish out the year strong. Homeownership hits different!     One year ago Homeownership hits different!     One year ago I stood on this door step as I became a first time homeowner. I still get emotional when I walk through this very door.     I think back to growing up when my family was living in extended stay hotels, not really knowing what was next. I didn’t know how I’d get here, but I knew I was determined to.     I’m living so many of my former prayers and I’m just so grateful. Every time I look at my daughter, I see God’s lo Every time I look at my daughter, I see God’s love for me.     Motherhood is the journey that has saved me, taught me so much, and changed my whole life.     I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect daughter. I’ve made it through my first month as an Assist I’ve made it through my first month as an Assistant Principal!     With one month down, I’m using this weekend to unwind and celebrate my accomplishments over the past month.     Being a career, business, and motherhood focused woman isn’t always the easiest task but this new role is teaching me things that apply to every bit of my life.    1. I’ve learned that I’ve though I can do it all, I don’t have to. I’m creating a team to support me in both work and personal life.     2. Boundaries are key. I keep a healthy balance of work and family time. Still trying to squeeze in time for just me!     3. Faith over fear. A year ago, I couldn’t picture myself here. Now, I know this was meant for me.     4. In work and in life, being a servant brings me so much joy. Nothing is better than positively impacting the lives of other people.     5. Covid is real. Y’all ready??       As my favorite season approaches, I’m closing out the current one reflecting on the goals I set for myself. Summer was full of surprises and even though I didn’t accomplish everything I thought I wanted to, I was blessed with so much more than I ever imagined. New week, new inspiration!     We’re week th New week, new inspiration!     We’re week three into the school year and I’m incredibly amazed by Kalyn’s transition to first. While I had so much anxiety about her return to school, she has proven her resilience time and time again.     That’s the beauty of children. They teach us so much. She’s taught me to remain calm in uncertain situations, to be present in the moment and enjoy the ride, and to find joy in new beginnings. I’m just so proud of my girl! She is truly my inspiration.     Have your children returned to in person learning? How are they adjusting?

Imagine the life you want and then chase it relent Imagine the life you want and then chase it relentlessly.     It worked for me, but it didn’t happen over night. Here’s what I did:    1. Created a vision board that listed every spiritual, personal, and financial goal I wanted to achieve.   2. Created a check list of attainable steps for each goal.   3. Created a network of people with similar mindsets to support one another.   4. Showed up everyday and worked my behind off!   5.
